Sermon for Good Friday 2019 Service

For Christians all across the world, one of the most prestigious events is the Good Friday. This event is also known as Black Friday (from which Black Friday sale is also used), Holy Friday, or Great Friday. This event has great historical importance since it is associated with the day when Jesus was the crucified and then to his death at Calvary. There are many people who hear this name for the first time and they think it is some Muslim event which is totally. It is because Friday also has significance in the Islam religion and that’s why when people hear this name for the first time, they think of it as some Muslim event which is wrong. Also, there is a huge conflict between the scholars of Christianity about the exact date of this event because of the different interpretations of the scholars from the holy Bible. Well, common Christians celebrate this event on the day of Friday just two days before the Easter. Since Easter comes on Sundays and the date for that is 16th April, people are now used to celebrate this prestigious event on 14th April which is Friday for this year as well.

The Best Sermon for Good Friday Service.

“Christ died for us.” Two thousand years ago, outside the city of Jerusalem, at a place called Calvary, a man named Jesus died on a cross. It was actually the day God died. The cross was in the heart of God from all eternity. In Revelation 13:8 the Bible says that the Lord Jesus was the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Before the world was created, before time began, it was determined that the Lord Jesus would die on a cross for the sins of the whole world. When the Lord Jesus came to this earth He carried a cross in his heart as well. As a boy, the Lord Jesus said, ”Did you not know I must be about my Father’s business?” He’s talking about the business of dying for the sins of the world on the cross”.
